About 16 years ago, an individual was deeply disturbed and distressed when he visualized the poverty, starvation, and despair in the surrounding community. A strong emotional impulse compelled him to move forward for the upliftment of underprivileged people. Soon, three compatible individuals joined him as helping hands to work together on this mission. Unitedly, they resolved to confront various challenges head-on, and thus "Asansol Pragati" was born on January 1st, 2009, as a joint venture. Since then, this organization has been working for the betterment of the most vulnerable people in society.

This consortium also focuses on various cultural events. The group actively organizes celebrations for events like Republic Day, National Youth Day, Independence Day, and the birth anniversaries of eminent personalities, among others. These events strengthen bonds within the community and inspire social patriotism. Simultaneously, the organization encourages all members, their families, and even non-members to participate in the cultural activities held.
